The Island Gameplay

The Island is a single-player Half-Life 2 modification released January 10th, 2006 by Stalk3r. It is notable for its usage of both dark areas and large usage of fast zombies as enemies, which both have been cited to be frustrating at times.

The modification is eight levels in length and is suited for action oriented Half-Life players since it contains no puzzles or skill solving actions. The latest version of the mod is 1.0c which was released on January 11th, 2006.

Credits

Although Stalk3r created the bulk of the modification himself, english language support was done by Stephen 'Cripsy' Etheridge, Kreg^Mortis^Mosier and Gahro. Additional beta and play testers include Lord, Jaffa Altaris, Fenix, Raban and Backman as noted in the official readme.txt supplied with the modification.

Summary

Summary description as supplied by Stalk3r on the game's release date:

The island is a singleplayer, first person shooter mod. There are no puzzles here, just pure, intense action. And who are your enemies? An army made up solely of zombies, particularly fast zombies, and their headcrabs. Where is this taking place? Any random island; the location is irrelevant.

This mod will be best suited to skilled action-oriented gamers. The mod is eight maps in length and includes many of the Source engine's advanced features and effects.

Work on The Island is complete and the mod is currently available for download. I would just like to apologise for the release date being two months later than originally planned.

Man made hell :-)
