Team Fortress Classic, also known as Team Fortress 1.5, is a team and class-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by the Valve Corporation. It is a remake of the Team Fortress modification for Quake and was originally released on April 7th, 1999 as a free addition to Half-Life. The latest version is 1.1.2.1 which was released on March 11th, 2008.
The game features two teams with up to nine classes in each pitted against each other in varying game-modes, such as Capture the Flag, VIP, and Capture the Point. In June, 2000, Valve updated the game extensively by adding new player models, new features, bug fixes and new game modes.
The development of Team Fortress Classic was led by John Cook and Robin Walker, the designers of the original Team Fortress modification.
